I don’t know who AR Rahman is, Bharat Ratna is equal to my father’s Toenail: Bala Krishna
Tollywood senior actor and MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna found himself a controversy after remarks in an interview about AR Rahman. In an interview with a Telugu channel, he said, “I don’t know who AR Rahman is. I don’t care if he won an Oscar. I don’t even know who he is. he gives hit once in a decade.” He also added that Bharat Ratna India’s highest civilian award is equal to the toenail of his father late actor NT Rama Rao.
Speaking about Bharat Ratna, Nandamuri Balayya said that, ” I feel that Bharat Ratna is equal to my father’s toenail. No award can compensate for the contribution of my family to Telugu Cinema. So only the award should feel, bad not my father.
Even the Hollywood director couldn’t escape his wrath in the interview. Talking about James Cameron, he said, “I like to wrap up my shootings quickly unlike the Hollywood filmmaker James Cameron to takes years to complete a film. The way I work I do more hit films in less time.”
Soon after these controversial statements, Rahman fans mercilessly posting memes with the hashtag #whois Balakrishna. It started trending on Twitter. Some of the tweets are here:
