Singer-Composer Bappi Lahiri passes away at 69, Check out some of His Telugu Compositions
The Veteran Music Director and Singer Bappi Lahiri aka Disco King died at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday night, February 15, 2022. The cause of Bappi Ji’s death is sleep-related breathing disorder OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) He was 69. The iconic singer was admitted to Juhu’s Criticare Hospital, where he breathed his last. It is sad news for the Indian film Industry, as Lata Mangeshkar died a few weeks ago, Now Bappi Lahiri left us.
The last rites of the singer will be held on Thursday as Lahiri Ji’s family (son Bappa Lahari) returns from the United States.

Popularly known as the “Golden Man” and the “King of Disco” Bappi Lahari, had composed multiple Hindi, Bengali, Telugu songs that made him one of the best composers from the 1980s to 2000s in India.
Talking about his Tollywood composition, Bappi Lahiri was a music director for as many as 14 Telugu movies, including several blockbuster musical hits Super-hit songs like Vaana Vaana Velluvaye, Chick Chick Chelam, Aakasham Lo Oka Thaara, are still some of the most liked songs by the legendary singer. Gang Leader title song is still a favorite for many Telugu audiences.
Actor Chiranjeevi took to pay the condolences to the Music Legend. He wrote,”Deeply anguished at the demise of legendary Music director & Singer Bappi Lahiri. I had a great association with Bappi da. He gave numerous chartbusters for me which contributed immensely to my film’s popularity. He will always be remembered for his unique style & his great enthusiasm for life which reflected in his music. My heartfelt condolences to all his near and dear.(sic)

Chiranjeevi’s Gang Leader, Mohan Babu’s Rowdy Alludu, Nippu Ravva, Big Boss, Simhasanam, and Rowdy Inspector, Rowdy Gaari Pellam are some of the many films for which Bappi Lahiri had composed music. He last sang for Ravi Teja’s film Disco Raja in 2020.
